This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the First Annual “Lobster de Mayo” event which was presented by Homarus, who supplied all the Lobster for the evening, and hosted by The Food Network’s Katie Lee.
The event was held at the beautiful space, Capitale, in downtown Manhattan. Chefs from 20 of the city’s finest restaurants whipped up Lobster & Mexican inspired dishes.
Some of these restaurants included:
Patron was serving up cocktails throughout the night and there was even a special Margarita Bar for guest to squeeze their juice of choice to make their own drink.
This elegant evening helped benefit NY’s own City Harvest, a food rescue organization that helps to feed two million New Yorkers who face hunger each year. There was also a silent auction consisting of sports and music memorabilia, donated dinner packages from all of the participating restaurants and a special gift package from FreshDirect. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will be donated to City Harvest.
Here’s a look at some of the yummy dishes that were served:
While all of the food was delicious – 2 of the dishes really stood out to me.
Lobster Tacos from La Bodega Negra
Macaroni & Lobster Cream from Catch
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about these 2 dishes & will absolutely be making a visit to both restaurants in the near future.
Here are a few photos from the event:

Overall, Lobster de Mayo was a blast. It was a night that was filled with Food & Fun while raising money for an amazing organization.
