I have a slight obsession with subscription boxes. Theres something about having a fun box arrive at your home and you being surprised with its contents – especially if that box is curated by a style icon.

I am absolutely in love with the Summer Box of Style! All the items are travel friendly and the beauty products are made with natural ingredients. The Compass Necklace is one of my favorite items in this box. It was handmade in Cambodia and 10% of the profits are donated toward the fight against human trafficking.

Back in March while attending the #WeAllGrow Summit, I had the opportunity to spend a full day with the the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. Prior to visiting Long Beach for this conference, I wasn’t very familiar with the area and truthfully it never was a location that I thought to visit. Being in town for the conference plus spending the day with their tourism board has totally changed that. Long Beach is absolutely beautiful and has so much to offer.

We stayed where the conference was being held, Hotel Maya. There aren’t enough words to describe how much we LOVED this property. The property is large and has some awesome amenities. The pool and hot tub area have cabanas, a bar and is waterfront. We dined at their on site restaurant, Fuego, multiple times as well as spent some time at their hookah lounge. The view from our balcony was was breathtaking!

Our day with the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau started with a sail along the Long Beach coastline aboard one of Harbor Breeze’s modern and comfortable catamarans. It was an awesome way to see and enjoy Long Beach’s downtown waterfront.

We then hopped on a bus to head to The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) where we got to check out a comprehensive retrospective exhibition by legendary Los Angeles artist Frank Romero, encompassing over 50 years of the artist’s career. His work has powerful and meaningful messages behind them.

From there we headed to the The Aquarium of the Pacific which is the fourth most-attended aquarium in the nation! We started off with a delicious lunch and then had a super fun Behind-the-Scenes Tour. This aquarium displays over 11,000 animals in more than 50 exhibits that represent the diversity of the Pacific Ocean. We were able to feed the fish from the back room and just see how everything operated which was really cool.

The day ended with a helicopter tour!!!!  Anthelion helicopters took us on an amazing adventure over the storied Queen Mary, the historic USS Iowa Battleship and the spectacular Catalina Island. This was my first time in a helicopter and it was one of the best experiences.

While we did do a lot in just one day, when visiting I would absolutely break these activities up between two days so that you are able to walk through the museum as well as the aquarium at your own pace and take everything in. I also highly recommend a tour of  Queen Mary which is considered one of the most haunted places in America! This post is brought to you by Tone Skin Care. As always, all opinions are my own.

Tone Skin Care is known for their awesome body washes so I was super excited to hear that they had a new product out – Brazilian Glam!

BrazilianGlamBot-488x570

First things first – the packaging! I’m a sucker for visually appealing products and this one is a stand out. The bold colors catch my attention immediately and it has a really cute print on the front of the bottle.

Brazilian Glam is a mix of Brazil Nut Oil and Maracujá. The scent is incredible! It’s very tropical with hints of coconut which instantly made me feel like I was swept away to a gorgeous beach in Rio. This scent lingered on both my body and in my bathroom long after I was out of the shower. This body wash is creamy and super moisturizing and it left my skin silky smooth.

What I love most about Brazilian Glam and the rest of the body wash scents from Tone Skin Care is their products are great quality and very luxurious feeling but at a super affordable price. You can pick this body wash up for only $3!

This post  is brought to you by Vanity Planet and The Motherhood. As always, all opinions are my own.

Makeup brushes are one of those items that you can truly never have too many of – at least that is what I constantly tell myself. I have been through so many sets that include 5-6 of your basic everyday brushes and then end up having to purchase more individual ones for specific uses. Purchasing brushes like this basically means that when it comes time to pack for a trip, I end up tossing numerous brushes in the same bag as my makeup. I really wanted to find something that had all the different kinds of brushes I like but is also friendly when on the go.

The ‘Palette‘ is a 15 piece professional makeup brush collection from Vanity Planet and it is exactly what I was looking for. This set includes 1 rollout case and the following brushes:

1. Kabuki Brush – to apply mineral powder
2. Powder/Blush Brush – to apply powder foundation and blush
3. Flat Top Stippling Brush – to apply light powder or creamy products
4. Angled Contour Brush – for blending and contouring
5. Liquid Foundation Brush – to apply liquid foundation
6.
Large Fan Brush – to apply blush, blending, highlights, and for brushing off excess powder
7.
Concealer Brush – for concealing a concentrated area
8. Medium Blender – for blending
9. Smudging Brush – to smudge specific area of a smoky eye
10.
Crease Shader – for controlled application of shadow on eye creases
11. Large Domed Shader – to shade powders and moisturizer-based products
12. Precision Concealer – to apply concealer to small, targeted areas
13. Rounded Liner Brush – for applying cream eyeliner products
14. Angled Lining Brush – for precise eyeliner application
15. Lip Liner Brush with cap – to apply lip liner for a smooth contour

These 15 brushes will work for you to achieve any look you are going for so no need to buy any additional to add to this set. The rollout case is my absolute favorite.

It allows you to keep all of your brushes in one space so they are organized and has a protective flap that keeps your brushes clean. This set is super compact and is perfect for when on the go. They are cruelty free and made with premium synthetic bristles that have a super soft and silk feel. I have been using them for a few weeks and the larger powder brushes work so well for my everyday makeup look. They also clean easily while maintaining their shape.

This brush set retails for $100 but is currently on sale for $80.

GUESS WHAT? I have a special 70% off promo code for my readers which will bring the price down to $24!!!!! That price is a steal for such a great set. Click HERE to check out the details on this set and enter promo code: Pearls70 at checkout for the additional discount.

I’ve been a fan of SK-II for quite some time now. They are pioneers in the skincare industry and very well known for their luxorious products to keep your skin healthy, smooth and more youthful looking. When I found out that they had a global campaign going on all about the pressures and “expiration date” that society puts on women, I knew I wanted and HAD to share this message with my readers.

SKII_Logo

It’s 2017 and there are still so many people around the world that think there is a certain timeline that women must follow in order to create this complete and happy life that society has sold us.

“You’re 30… single… & childless?! There MUST be something wrong with YOU. You must not be looking hard enough. “

What complete BS.

I was 29 when I got married and 30 when my son was born. A lot of people think this is the ideal age for marriage and starting a family but in reality… that is just how MY life played out. I had many people question when I would settle down and then on my wedding day people already asking about children.

I think it’s important more now than ever that we allow women to make their own decisions on marriage and children and when is the right time for them, if ever, to take that path. We need to encourage women that self happiness is worth so much more than just settling and that age is truly just a number. Lets stop the stigma that a single woman over the age of 30 is on a timeline and her worth is decreasing.

Don’t let society’s pressure dictate your future and remember that everything perfect for you comes in due time. Let’s raise this next generation of young women to be independent and strong but most of all to know that we are more than just our age. Below I have linked SK-II video to this great campaign. Please watch it and have a tissue handy.
