Every season a new “IT” trend comes around. If you know me, you know my love for fringe. I’ve literally been rocking the same style H&M fringe bag for a good 3 years #sorrynotsorry

When I saw that fringe hem was the new trend I shrieked in excitement and I went on a hunt to find the perfect pair. boohoo.com is one of my favorite websites. Over the holidays they had 60% off of everything and so I went on a little shopping spree. I ended up not only finding my perfect fringe hem denim but also a bunch of super cute tops – one specifically that paired perfected with them.

I’ve never liked combining black with certain colors. For example, yellow or blue, but as time goes on I am learning ways to incorporate these shades that I normally stay away from. A good way to mix blue with black is to use a lighter shade. Not only does it contrast great against black but it really makes the outfit pop.

Back in October I attended the Simply Stylist event in NYC. At the ‘Brand Experience’ portion of the day, you were able to mix & mingle with the other attendees and that is where I met Meagan Ollari. Meagan was wearing this collar that instantly caught my eye. I knew I had to compliment her on it and that is how I found out that Meagan actually designed and created the collar herself! We spoke for a while and I got to hear all about her line, Ollari, and check out her Lookbook.

Designer Meagan Ollari

———————————————————————————————————–

About the Designer:

Born and raised in New Jersey, Meagan Ollari discovered her passion for design at the age of 7, which she expressed through her love of sewing and illustration. “Meagan always seemed to be the lead singer or dancer and was never one interested in a backup role. At the age of 7, she started sketching clothing designs and asked Santa to bring her a sewing machine. That Christmas, Santa complied and soon Meagan was making clothes for herself and her dolls. She even made her own first business card for her fashion business. At that point, I knew she had a very bright future ahead of her”

-Cynthia, Meagan’s Mother

After high school, Meagan set out to formally study Fashion Design at County College of Morris in New Jersey and later transferred to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.

In 2009, she landed an internship at a multi-line women’s contemporary showroom in Manhattan’s Fashion District where she developed industry knowledge and hands-on design experience. Meagan has designed for junior contemporary brands such as Urban Outfitters, Urban Outfitters UK, Anthropologie, Guess, American Rag, Delia*s and Forever 21, among others…

In January 2014, Meagan decided it was time to share her gift and lifelong dream with the world. Meagan birthed Ollari the brand, which bears her namesake. Utilizing luxurious fabrications and novelty beadwork, Ollari targets a more refined contemporary woman.

Ollari made it’s official debut at New York Fashion Week on September 6, 2014.

Here are some shots from the runway:

I love Ollari’s SS2015 Womenswear Collection, Dragonfly Oasis. The collection is inspired by an eclectic blend of Twiggy’s 1960’s MOD era & the deep-rooted cultural aesthetic of African tribes. The cutouts, necklines, beading and the mix of colors and patterns really makes this collection stand out. Here’s a look at some of the collection from the official lookbook.

From the short amount of time that I have gotten to know Meagan, I can tell how dedicated she is to her work. She eats, breathes & sleeps…. Ollari.

Make sure to follow her journey!

“It is a passionate ambition of mine to develop the new and the untouched, delve into places no brand or designer has gone before, and inspire others along the way.” –Meagan Ollari
