We’re well into the swing of summer, and the fashion trends just keep on coming. If your wardrobe is looking a little slim this season, you still have time to stock up.

Take a look at a few of these pieces that can add some flare to your fashion before the temperature dips.

Sneakers
Embrace change this summer and step outside of your sandals rut. If you look at what’s trending on Lyst, you’ll see see many of the pictured models wearing sneakers instead of classic strappy sandals. It might surprise you, but there’s no denying that sneakers just look so good.

1
White sneakers look almost natural when they’re whimsically paired with a fun and feminine flowing dress or skirt, making them an easy trend to master. Just make sure they’re relatively slim, instead of the bulkier pairs that you wear to the gym.

Lingerie
Lingerie used to be reserved for the bedroom, but today it’s at the forefront in the fashion world as a must-have for stylish outerwear. And when the heat rises outside, less is definitely more when it comes to comfortable clothes. Needless to say, today’s lingerie styles are perfect for keeping you cool in the sweltering heat of the season.

2
Bralettes in particular have blurred the lines between bras and tank tops over the last few years. A gallery from The Blonde Salad shows different ways fashion-forward ladies are styling the trend. Kendall Jenner, for instance, took her bralette in a new direction and embraced a ’90s style by wearing it over a cropped white T-shirt. It’s an easy way to ease yourself into the trend if so much skin has you feeling intimidated.

Round Mirrored Sunglasses
In an article for Hollywood Reporter, fashion writer Sam Reed proclaimed that round sunglasses “are going to rule the summer.” The resurrection of the 1970s trend has come back in full force, with celebrities like Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Gigi Hadid all recently spotted sporting the look.

If you’re going to try it out for yourself, embrace the ’70s with additional period details like suede, fringe, and flares. You can also just as easily pull off the trend by sticking to classic pieces like denim, white tops, and the always-dependable little black dress.

Fall will be here before you know it, so definitely make sure that you take advantage of these summer trends while you still can.

I cannot remember the last time I was able to style some pieces then go out and shoot them for Pearls & Paris. It literally has been FOREVER, therefore it felt great to get back out there. One of my best friends has picked up photography and she has a great eye so it was a pleasure to have her shoot me.

I absolutely believe that Leopard is a neutral. It’s a staple print to have in your wardrobe and it blends well with so many shades and colors.

I splurged on these Coach booties because they were truly love at first sight. Once they went on sale, I didn’t think twice about purchasing them. This chunky heel is not only super comfortable but very trendy this season. I’m looking forward to styling these with some fun colors in the upcoming months.

Unfortunately, these Felicia booties in leopard have sold out BUT if you like the style and shape, they are still available in black.

(Edit: as of 10pm / 12.28.15 certain sizes have come back in stock)

Back in October I attended the Simply Stylist event in NYC. At the ‘Brand Experience’ portion of the day, you were able to mix & mingle with the other attendees and that is where I met Meagan Ollari. Meagan was wearing this collar that instantly caught my eye. I knew I had to compliment her on it and that is how I found out that Meagan actually designed and created the collar herself! We spoke for a while and I got to hear all about her line, Ollari, and check out her Lookbook.

Designer Meagan Ollari

———————————————————————————————————–

About the Designer:

Born and raised in New Jersey, Meagan Ollari discovered her passion for design at the age of 7, which she expressed through her love of sewing and illustration. “Meagan always seemed to be the lead singer or dancer and was never one interested in a backup role. At the age of 7, she started sketching clothing designs and asked Santa to bring her a sewing machine. That Christmas, Santa complied and soon Meagan was making clothes for herself and her dolls. She even made her own first business card for her fashion business. At that point, I knew she had a very bright future ahead of her”

-Cynthia, Meagan’s Mother

After high school, Meagan set out to formally study Fashion Design at County College of Morris in New Jersey and later transferred to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.

In 2009, she landed an internship at a multi-line women’s contemporary showroom in Manhattan’s Fashion District where she developed industry knowledge and hands-on design experience. Meagan has designed for junior contemporary brands such as Urban Outfitters, Urban Outfitters UK, Anthropologie, Guess, American Rag, Delia*s and Forever 21, among others…

In January 2014, Meagan decided it was time to share her gift and lifelong dream with the world. Meagan birthed Ollari the brand, which bears her namesake. Utilizing luxurious fabrications and novelty beadwork, Ollari targets a more refined contemporary woman.

Ollari made it’s official debut at New York Fashion Week on September 6, 2014.

Here are some shots from the runway:

I love Ollari’s SS2015 Womenswear Collection, Dragonfly Oasis. The collection is inspired by an eclectic blend of Twiggy’s 1960’s MOD era & the deep-rooted cultural aesthetic of African tribes. The cutouts, necklines, beading and the mix of colors and patterns really makes this collection stand out. Here’s a look at some of the collection from the official lookbook.

From the short amount of time that I have gotten to know Meagan, I can tell how dedicated she is to her work. She eats, breathes & sleeps…. Ollari.

Make sure to follow her journey!

Cosmo’s Fun Fearless Life event came to NYC on November 8th & 9th.

ffl

This was a 2 day conference packed with inspiring speakers, panels, meet & greets and so much more. Due to a family event, I was only able to make it to Sundays panels but I took so much in during that one day. I left there so inspired and ready to take my blogging to the next level.

The only thing I wish there was more of is networking. I love events like this one and to me one of the most important things you can take in is meeting new people and connecting. There really was no networking at all so hopefully next year they will change that.

Editor in Chief, Joanna Coles, introduced the speakers throughout the day and it was an honor being in her presence. Cosmopolitan was my DREAM job throughout college and even though life didn’t work in my favor in regards to that, it was really inspiring being able to listen to Joanna and hear her thoughts on the topics discussed. Two of my favorite speakers was Jason Silva (Go google him NOW, seriously… watch his Shots of Awe series. It’s life changing & very thought-provoking) and Gabrielle Bernstein (Again, go look her up! Her story will move you.)

Here are some photos from the event:
