Simple, Superb Hair for Summer

Healthy Hair Tips from Expert Stylist, Nunzio Saviano

Those wicked winter months we just escaped have robbed our skin and hair from its luster, health and radiance. . So there’s no better time to refresh and reconnect with beautiful, dreamy hair to emphasize sun-kissed skin and an invigorated style attitude.

Expert stylist, Nunzio Saviano can transform anyone’s weather look with his magical hands, and advice for summer, which he offers here.

Trim It

Shed the winter wardrobe, and damage. “I can’t stress how important this is. Cutting, trimming and dusting, whichever you prefer to call it, is vital in keeping hair healthy from root to tip. In fact, not taking care of split ends can result in damage that moves up the hair shaft.” Chop, chop friends!

Shampoo More Frequently

“Instead of thinking of it as shampooing your hair, think of it as cleaning your scalp,” remarks Nunzio. Just as you clean your face regularly, you need to clean your hair. Wash your hair every other day or third day at most. Never go a week without shampooing your hair! While soaping up, try to give yourself a scalp massage. Massaging helps increase blood flow to the scalp, which is the best thing for the hair follicle. Remember, a clean scalp leads to healthy hair.”

Brush Up on Brushing

“Women don’t brush their hair as often as they should and some don’t do it correctly. When you brush your hair you should always make sure it touches your scalp, do not just brush the ends. It’s also very important to invest in a good brush like a Mason Pearson or natural hair brush. Bottom line, brushing should be done on a daily basis to disperse hair oils and keep hair healthy and strong.”

This month’s BirchBox is: Red Carpet Ready

Here is what was in this month’s box.

  • Jouer – Matte Moisture Tint
  • Lancome – Hypnose Drama Mascara
  • Twistband – Thick Headband
  • Vasanti – Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
  • Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel Square

BB1

This is by far my favorite Ghiradelli Square flavor – the blend of chocolate and caramel is so rich! It didn’t stand a chance in my household and was gobbled up in seconds!

Hypnôse Drama Mascara by Lancome gives your lashes instant volume & boost with just a single coat. This mascara has an S-shaped curved brush and has intense black pigments for max volume and color. I personally love this mascara! Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?

I’m new to the Vasantoi brand and this is one of the things that makes me stick with Birchbox. I love finding out about brands I am unfamiliar with. Their website states this product will: Dramatically improve your skin’s texture to reveal softer, brighter and younger looking skin! Brightens with powerful papaya enzymes to give radiance, exfoliates with dermatologist grade micro-crystals and gently cleanses with aloe vera, coconut and panthenol. That all sounds good to me! I will have to do a full review after a few times of using the product.

BB3

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint is lightweight and that to me is the best quality in a beauty product. It also gives a very smooth finish and is a great alternative for when running out the house and you don’t want to have to put on a full face of makeup or throw foundation on.

I try so hard to like the Twistband products but they just fall short for me. Maybe it’s just the way my hair is but the smaller ones don’t hold my hair at all and the head band is just blah for me.
