Last week I attended a beautiful wedding for my boyfriends co-worker. The last few months at work have been beyond busy that I totally forgot to pick something up to wear. You would think my closet wasn’t filled with beautiful dresses appropriate for the occasion… it is, but it’s a female thing. I needed something new and preferably with long sleeves since I’ve been self conscious about not hitting up the gym as frequently as I should have been. In typical last-minute fashion, I browsed through all of my favorite online boutiques and shops on a Monday for a Friday wedding! After hours of comparing different sites and dresses I finally found the one on ASOS.
I’ve admired many things on ASOS in the past but I always skipped on purchasing because I know they are located in the UK and I thought it would just take TOO long to get to NJ. I decided to purchase this dress and even though I was offered free shipping, I paid $12 for an express 2 day shipment. BEST DECISION EVER! My dress arrived on Thursday and fit amazing.

Last Friday I got together with a few of my girlfriends and we headed to Hurricane Club in the city. It also happened to be Restaurant Week so we took advantage of their amazing $38 dinner special. This was my first time here and I was beyond excited because I heard excellent reviews about both the food and yummy drinks.
We started with:
A few fruity rum drinks.
-Fiery Pork Dumplings
-Grilled Chicken Skewers
-PB & Guava Jam Sandwiches
All of the starters were full of flavor and delicious but the Coconut Shrimp topped them all. I’ve never seen Coconut Shrimp done up quite like at the Hurricane Club.
-Honey Glazed Ribs
Both were AMAZING! The Tiger Shrimp had a kick of spice and the ribs were some of the best tasting one’s I’ve had in a long time.
We also decided that getting the $72 Watermelon was necessary and it was worth every penny!
Yup, a full watermelon filled with Vodka, Fresh Lime, Mint and Rhubarb..
My beautiful best friends (Left to Right) Jen, Maria, Jocelyn and me at the end 🙂
Lastly, we were served dessert.
NO words can describe how incredible this dessert was.
Chocolate Kill-Devil’s Food Cake [Bruléed Banana & Caramel Rum Sauce]
Overall, my dining experience at the Hurricane Club was a really good one. From the drinks to the food to the service – everything was fantastic. We will be back again.
Did you make it out for NYC’s Restaurant Week? If so – what were your favorite places?
I stopped receiving my monthly Beauty Boxes about 4 months ago. I figured to take a break from them since I had just purchased a home and for all my fellow Beauty Box lovers, you know these things can get expensive. I’ve seen some of the products that have come in recent boxes while browsing through other blogs and I wasn’t that impressed so I didn’t feel like I was missing out… until I checked out the Pop Sugar blog! I am so in love with last month’s Must Have Box and I’m so sad I missed out on those goodies. I was just about to exit the website when I saw that the Special Edition Fall Style Box was being offered.
This sneak peek was all I needed to place my order! Featured in this special edition box is the Rachel Zoe Fall 2013 Collection Knot Ring which retails at $75. I love Rachel Zoe anything and this ring is no exception. This box will be shipping in September and I cannot wait to receive it so I can do a full review on it.
