Maxim’s “Big Game Weekend” Event was by far the hottest ticket in town as far as Super Bowl parties go. This year the 2 night star-studded event was presented by Talent Resources Sports and held at the ultra chic Espace on 42nd St. Both nights were sponsored by AQUAhydrate®, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Patrón Tequila, Philippe by Philippe Chow, Touch by Alyssa Milano and Wonderful® Pistachios.

I was able to attend the VIP Bash on Saturday which featured a live performance by Kendrick Lamar. He performed his hits “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”, “m.A.A.d. City” & “Swimming Pools.”

Party-goers sipped on Signature Patrón cocktails and danced the night away to beats from DJ Sinatra and Jus Ske. Philippe by Philippe Chow was handpicked by Maxim to cater the event which included some of their most popular menu items such as the Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls. From an ice luge with Patrón XO Cafe to ski shots, a photo booth and endless amounts of gorgeous Maxim models, this event did not disappoint!

The whole state of New Jersey is EXTRA amp’d this year for Super Bowl? Why? …well, in case you have been living under a rock – it is taking place in our neck of the woods this year. That is right — Super Bowl is taking place in New Jersey NOT New York! 🙂

The best part of Super Bowl Sunday, besides the game, is the FOOD at the parties so I wanted to share some tasty treats you could serve your guest and that you can whip up and bring them to whatever party you will be attending.

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail about the 2014 Yelp’s Holiday Hangover. It read:

WHAT: Yelp’s Holiday Hangover aboard Hornblower’s Infinity + Hybrid yachts. Presented by Campari America and Lagunitas Brewing Company, expect 378 feet of decadence amongst two vessels with seven climate controlled decks, six dance floors, and more sweeping views of the city than you can shake a Mob Wife at.

WHEN: Sunday, January 19th

TIME: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

WHERE: Hornblower Hybrid & Hornblower Infinity

After reading all of the details my mind yelled: WHERE DO I SIGN UP???

The RSVP was on 1/9/14 at noon and it was intense. Since you could only sign up for 1 ship I looked at a few pictures of both and decided to go with the Hybrid. It was the smaller of the 2 ships but I loved the layout and figured since the Infinity had a larger capacity, a lot of people would try to RSVP for that one increasing my chances of scoring a pass. After 10 minutes of refreshing & what seemed like the website crashing I was able to RSVP without being waitlisted. What a relief when I received the confirmation e-mail. A few days later – my pass was e-mailed to me.

Since they recommend you get there early me and my plus 1 got on the road around 3:30pm since they were boarding at 5:15pm. Getting to Pier 15 was an adventure. There was traffic getting to the Holland and since my navigation in my truck is terrible – we ended up in Brooklyn. After driving for 1 1/2 hours, paying about $30 in tolls and maybe even getting a red light ticket…. we arrived & the line wasn’t too bad for showing up later than expected.

After a few minutes we had to show our id’s to get wristbands and we started to board. The sun was starting to set and I got this awesome shot of the ship.

Once aboard the fun began! The ship was filled with tons of Yelpers, free drinks, free food, a DJ, performers and some vendors.
