Nails – Sparkly Mermaid

Here are the products I used to achieve this weeks manicure:

Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hardener

Main Polish: Sephora By O.P.I in Mermaid To Order

Accent Polish: Sephora By O.P.I in Only Gold For Me

I started off with one coat of the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hardener. I then used my “Perfect Tips” strip by Nailene and placed it across both ring fingers and applied 2 coats of the main polish.

Once dry to the touch, I gently peel the sticker off and applied a coat of my accent polish in the clear space.

I then apply two coats of the main polish to the remaining nails. I then apply one to two coats of the accent polish to my pointer finger. I finish by applying one coat of the fast dry top coat to all nails.

Sephora – Summer Lovin’ Set

Sephora has always been my GO TO store when it comes to makeup due to the variety of products and brands they carry. They have an awesome Beauty Insider program as well! Basically, you get 1 point for every dollar you spend in the store which then can be redeemed for special reward gifts. You have your option of 100 point and 500 point gifts and they occasionally throw in a special 250 point gift. I don’t use my points often as I rather save them up until they offer something I love…. and they finally have!

The Summer Lovin’ Set

The Summer Lovin’ set is a 500 point reward and includes the following:

– Ultra Shine Lip Gloss #11 Shiny Pin-up Pink (0.1 oz)
– Outrageous Volume Mascara – Ultra Black (0.06 oz)
– Tinted Self-Tanning Body Mist (1.5 oz)
– Instant Moisturizer (0.5 oz)

All these products are the Sephora brand and since this kit included some of my favorite items – I had to pick it up! The lip gloss is very long-lasting and actually very pigmented and the instant moisturizer is one of my favorites to date. A little goes a long way and I think that’s important in a face moisturizer. The mascara in this kit is not one of my favorites, mainly because I am not a big fan of that type of brush but I will be giving it a few tries before disregarding. The self-tanning body mist has excellent reviews on the Sephora website and when my tan starts to fade, I will definitely be testing it out.

I did two coats in “And a Cherry on Top” and added an accent on my ring finger with a coat of each glitter polish.

Nails – Only Gold For Me

I have come to fall in love with Sephora By O.P.I – Only Gold For Me

It is considered a Jewelry Top coat which basically means it’s a clear top coat with glitter. I love the Jewelry Top Coats because they can make the most simple manicure look more glam and sophisticated with a swipe of the brush. Here are two different manicures that I incorporated this Top Coat with.

The main polish color in this look is: Sephora By O.P.I in Read My Palm

The main polish in this look is: L’Oreal Colour Riche in Violet Vixen

Nails – Love

This weekend we hosted one of my best friend’s Bridal Shower, so I felt like my nails needed to remind me of Love – minus the color red. So I went to my staple manicure… pink, glitter and an accent nail.

Main Polish: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Back to the Fuchsia

Accent Polish 1: Sephora By O.P.I in A True Romantic

Accent Polish 2: Sephora By O.P.I in Only Gold For Me

Step 1: 2 coats of Back to the Fuchsia on all nails except the ring finger.

Step 2: 1 coat of A True Romantic on both ring fingers.

Step 3: 2 coats of Only Gold For Me on both ring fingers.

…ending with a fast dry topcoat.

Only Gold For Me is clear with gold specks so by adding a “base” of A True Romantic, it really brought the color out and made it look solid. Without the base – you would have seen the plain nail with just a glitter top.
